hello
i do not know much about this stuff and i ll try to provide as much info as possible. if you need anything else i ll post it.
I have comcast high speed internet and my speeds are much lower than advertised i din't even get half the bandwidth I'm supposed to.
it is advertised that i will be getting (8mbps download and 768kbps upload). i was unable to run the speed test on this site maybe its because of a firewall I'm using or something else. however i tested on another website ( http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ ) and i get abut 2884kbps down and 428 kbps up. also tested on a bunch of other websites and got similar results.

TCP properties for IP = XX.XX.XXX.XX ()
Browser/OS = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1. Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: TCP 1323 Options need to be enabled for RWIN over 2^16 (65535). Windows 9x might also need the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2621.4 kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1048.56 kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

I downloaded a TCPOtimizer program and all i was able to do is click the optimal settings button but that made my ping worse so i reverted to the original settings.
Again i dont know what I'm doing and any help is greatly appreciated.
