First, dump IE and get Avant Browser. Loads much faster and has built in security. www.avantbrowser.com FREE
Used Cable Nut to tweak some settings with nice results. Extensive experimentation with values. Below is what I have in use, all other potential tweeks in Cable Nut are left blank for a reason. Either the defaults are adequate or overall system performance in WinXP SP2 was down graded with additional tweaking.

There are many causes of radio frequency degradation and the most effective way to solve the problem is to simply change the routers operating channel. By default most routers are setup to operate on channel 6.
First, go to your router security settings and secure your connection, no need to have others using your potential bandwidth.
Second, change your routers operating channel. Experiment to see which one has the best performance.
