  1. hi fireyone01

    nice to see some one from the uk here

    are you still having this problem ?

    try testing your connection when nothing else is being used in ur network (internet connection)

    btw i am damn jealous of

    blueyounder is the best cable company in the UK

    well now they have been bought by NTL also

    Wow I didn't know NTL bought Blueyonder.

    I used another site to test my connection and that came back with a higher rate. I'm just telling myself that it is the places that I download from that have the problem lol

  2. Thank you for your reply :)

  3. Lately my internet has been downloading at approx 50kbs (and that's on a good day).

    I have a 4MB connection  and when I called up my ISP they couldn't see a problem and recommended this site. However, when i do the test, it says my connection is 1.5mb. I've scanned my computers for any virus', trojans & spyware and all have came back negative. I can't seem to find why it is being so slow.

    Any help is appreciated, THANKS in advance!!

    Here's my stats:

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

    [b]Connection is:: 1355 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB)

    Download Speed is:: 165 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2)

    Test Time:: Thu Feb 9 21:27:13 UTC 2006

    Bottom Line:: 24X faster than 56K 1MB download in 6.21 sec

    Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 57.93 % of your hosts average (co.uk)

    TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

    MTU = 1500

    MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

    MSS = 1460

    Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

    Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960

    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits (scale factor of 4)

    Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 64240

    RWIN is a multiple of MSS

    Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

    64240 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 10278.4 Kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 4111.36 Kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

    Time to live left = 56 hops

    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
