hello I am in the process of troubleshooting my girlfriend's mac pc and she is attempting to upgrade from mac os 10.2.8 to mac os 10.3. she has an ibook that has a 700 mhz processor and is a power G3. she and I have attempted to go through the apple menu to system preferences and update through software update but has been unsuccessful. Do you have any suggestions as to how to upgrade to mac os 10.3 and/or what are the requirements for the mac os 10.3 system? Thanks in advance!!!

hello to all. I am in the process of attempting to install a cd-burner for a friend. For some weird reason, the pc is not reading the cd burner at all. The specs: P3, 866 mhz, 384 MB RAM, Windows ME. When checking the inside of the tower, it seems that the current cd-rom and hard drive have their own separate cables. I have even double checked the BIOS to make sure they were configured correctly. I need to know what else is there left for me to do and also need verification as to what cables I will need to plug into the cd-burner. Thanks! Stephen

a client is using dell laptop with windows xp; has built in wireless connection; she is able to send packets but not receive them. What does this mean? She has a cable modem connection (motorola surfboard with linksys wireless router). Any suggestions?

I am working at a client's workstation right now where her computer is one of 2 computers that is plugged into a Linksys workgroup switch. Both of their computers, when both of them were brought up this morning, their display had large icons and I was not allowed to change the resolution settings back to 1280 x 720 and 32 bit color. (By the way the settings were at 640 x 480 and it was on low 8 bit color). I did a system restore to get it back to normal but once shutting it down and bringing it back up, it went back to the 640 x 480 resolution. What do you think could be the possible issue for this? I have checked for updated antivirus and spyware (I know this is more than likely not the problem) but did it just to make sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I am attempting to diagnose a 2nd computer for a friend. Her computer is littered with spyware and viruses; I am attempting to see if I can connect the 2nd computer online by using the same cable modem I have for my own computer. Is this possible? Because while troubleshooting the 2nd computer (by the way I am using an ethernet connection), I am getting a 169 ip address; release/renew have failed; no Winsock issues, tried Spybot and that is not working. I have even tried going back to the original configuration and it is still not working. Any idea of how I can resolve the 169 ip address if it can be resolved? If there is any clarification needed, I will be more than happy to give it.

Hello how is everyone doing? I need some assistance. I am working on a computer for a client who recently got the downloader.trojan virus. She has her Norton up to date and followed Symantec/Norton's instructions on removing it and she has still not had any luck. Do you have any more suggestions?
