The ip of my router is 192.168.1.1. I think it has something to do with NAT. when i turn it off the first hop is to my router, but still timesout after that. Sorry don't have aim.

Another wrinkle ... When I try to tradert anywhere, but my router the first hop 10.180.0.1, but if I tracert my router it finds it right away. also when i try to tracert to my second PC going through router I can not find it, but I can tracert myself. this is becoming really puzzling.

I have tried turning off Zonealarm, allowing tracert, ICMP, and even running directly from my cable modem. I guess now I am trying to firgure out wherre the 10. address is coming from.

I downloaded NeoTrace and it will tracert all hops to testmy.net Even past the 10. address. I will call comcast to see what they say.
