i ran a line test let me know what you think..also i changed the default send window setting in cablenut..the upload speed now goes from 96kb/sec -128then drops to 50-40-then right back to 16kb/sec..i'm judging these speeds using AOL instant message sending a file to a friend..

i went to westell website to get the firmware but the modem i have is listed as outdated so i found a website that has the firmware, i went to download it but it wont install because i have the usb hooked to it and it doesnt show as westell modem on the network connections it shows up as "Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection"

installed that driver updated it..still:

i did everything you said.where do i go to update router firmaware and my NIC drivers?? does using a ethernet rather than the usb from my modem to cpu have anything to do with this slowness in upload speed???

ok i changed it to 100Mbps full duplex..still no change..any other ideas? not really a change from 10 full duplex to 100 full duplex..i have the westell 2200 modem.

the upload goes from 64 to 96 to 42 to 32 ,,,then drops to 16 again...i did everything you said ...what else is there..it seems to be dropping to far from 96 to 16kb/second..i have windows firewall turned off installed those programs..is there anything else?? i think the upload speed should stay at around 50-60kb/sec but it just keeps dropiin to 16.

it helped a bit but it starts out at 95 then drops to 64 to 48 then right back down to 16kb/second..any other ideas??? how to keep it at around 64?
