  1. Apparently, the T1 is going to be split among 24 phone lines and the rest going to data. Thus the 1088kbps.

That was what first brought me here. That looked a little slow for a T1 line...especially when my 'work' tests from yesterday state the following:

Download Connection is:: 2308 Kbps about 2.31 Mbps (tested with 20972 kB)

  2. I just got the SBC DSL Elite package a week ago...and at first my speed didn't change a whole lot. Now, things seem so to be picking up.

Then again, I didn't test my speed as often as I do now. (Thanks to this forum!) But if you check my sig. that's what I am getting as of now on 6/14/06.

I don't think distance would kill your speed. At work, we happen to be in a rural area far from many people/houses and everything checks out. Have the linemen check your line. Sometimes it is worth the $55 to make sure your wiring is okay inside.

  5. I have been doing speed tests over the past few days so that we could do a cost comparison of DSL vs. T1.

We are located in San Antonio, Texas. When I completed the test, my scores came out higher than I thought possible. I called the phone company and they couldn't tell me what speeds I was connecting at. They can only tell me what the promised speeds should be.

Can anyone explain this to me?
