Don't get me wrong, I am overjoyed by this speed. It's just over the past few days I have become utterly addicted  to getting the speed higher...I was still around 5  earlier today..

I guess running through the router cuts some bandwidth. Is there anything that can compensate for this loss?

My Laptop runs around the 5.2Mbps range....it uses a wireless card that's recieving at 100%. It seems like it should be closer to my desktop speed, but maybe it's losing even more. Any suggestions?

FireFox for me. I've always been a Mosaic/Netscape/Mozilla fan. I really like the multi-search box in FireFox, not to mention Tabbed BrowsingRocks!! It also has some cool extensions. 

Yes, I think it is 8Mbps. The customer service rep said to give it a few days and call in if the speed doesn't increase. Yesterday I was only getting upperr 3's  - lower 4's, so it hasgone up some. I probably need a lil tweaking too.
