well day 2 with upgraded service they say its gonna get better went from sbc or att basic service top out @ 1.5 mbps now using elite sbc or att service that tops out at 6 mbps so is it true its gonna get better as i stay connected and also does the amount of ram affect my connection cause i just went from 1 gig ddr2 to 4 gigs ddr2 will that help too? :::.. yeah something really nasty happend to my laptop and i was luckily able to get into safe mode and i use the files and settings transfer wizard to get my files and yes its windows xp i got a new operations recovery disc and it appears that the disc has a newer version of windows xp than the laptop had so now it wont let me load i will check out this patch any other help info or advice is very much greatly appreciated

i used files and settings tranfer wizard and put all everything on an external hard drive now i hook up the external to the restored laptop and its telling me i cant use the files to be exact its telling me this your migration store was created with a previous version of files and settings transfer wizard please collect your settings using the current version of the files and settings transfer wizarf but the data from before the laptop was restored to factory are now gone so now i need something to read these dat files uncompress them and let me load whats there

i cleared out my stored internet content like instructed and i got all the way up to the 4th test and completed it the fifth one is taking a bit and i dont know why but here are the latest results any feedback and or advice to fine tune my connection will be greatly appreciated thanx much this forum kicks ass :::.. i had basic dsl from sbc dsl that topped out at 1.5 Mbps and now i have sbc yahoo elite that tops out at 6 Kbps and ive been averaging beteween 2.75 Mbps and as high as 5.5 Mbps per second but when i try a large file download test it stops and thats the only thing that jams up any ideas? when i take the mutli easy test that goes from small file to big one i stop on the 3rd one at 73% what gives?
