I don't think so. I downloaded all the files twice, first with the help of IDM (Internet Download Manager) and then through the opera web browser. I've heard that download managers may give you corrupt download, but a web browser's download window?

Hello, I have again come up with my query, and I again hope that it would be solved as quickly as it was the last time. Well let me now start with my question: has anybody in TMN used a software called "HJSplit" before? It's a software which is used to split a single file into various multiple files of the extensions of 001, 002 and so on. I was downloading a movie through rapidshare which was split in 8 parts through HJSplit, and the uploader had instructed to join all the 8 files afterwards with the help of HJSplit software. I downloaded all those eight parts of the movie, BUT, except for the first part, all other parts I downloaded were corrupt because HJSplit wasn't able to detect any of the part, except for the first one... As a result I googled the problem, and in of the site, it was suggested to redownload all the files again. And I did that, but I still got the same result: except for the first part, rest of the files were all corrupt... See, even the Microsoft's site is able to identify the file extension, i.e. .001, BUT from the second part onwards, it's not... If someone wants me to post additional information/screenshots, I'll do. But, please help...

PinoyTweaker, you were right. I feel like a stupid now... @ All, thanks for looking into the trouble, but the problem is resolved now. My download bandwidth setting was set at just 2.5 kbps. Adjusted it to "unlimited" and now getting turbo charged speed.

HI, I am not able to download media files from limewire even though it is uploading files at great rate.... I have forwarded the ports properly, connected to a "turbo charged network" and I am able to download perfectly well from the uTorrent client... But why am I not from gnutella network? Please help...

Sorry, it is 144 KBPS (my highest speed) . I am from India, ISP is Airtel and their advertised speed is 256 kbps (32K) . I'll upgrade it to 512 kbps, for roughly Rs. 1400 ($350) . This ain't exactly cheap...

I feel like a midget whenever I visit this forum. I mean, these transfer speeds are like a dream for me. My highest of all time is 144 KBPS (download) on a 256K DSL. But I desire for much higher speeds, which are currently not available in this part of the world...

Hi Roco, Yeah it's a long way from India... Am fed up of my net speed I have a 96 Kbps connection and no, I haven't tried any local speed test....it's of no use I roughly pay around $15 a month and other ISP's are way too expensive...So i have no other option
