  1. ok, i was watching tv and the on demand has been acting up a bit and suddenly it stopped acting up. I decide to test my internet connection again and i got some very strange numbers. I ran cclutter right before i did the test i'm loading since i couldn't belive it the first time i ran it. any explainations?????

  2. i ran the test on my laptop with xp and here are my results. It's faster but not where it should be....

  4. i just ran some test with the comp hooked up directly to the modem.... i didn't have an option for 10mb half duplex so i set it to auto. at one point it was running fine but i didn't test it. websites now take a long time to load and i didn't mess with the settings and i had mcafee the whole time. These are the results with the comp plugged directly into the modem

    comcast 6mbps/384kbps

    I deleted the extra protocols that i didn't need.

    I checked that nothing was checked in the lan settings of internet explorer

    nic is set to 100mbsfull_duplex. firmware is the lastest available but i found this for my router... http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DGL%2D4300

    unplugged modem for at least 3 minutes.

    scanned with mcaffee spyware and antivirus

    have the latest windows updates

    ran cclutter

    installed cablenut and not sure which vanburen ver 9 file to use

    i haven't built my own file

  6. I have a comcast connection. It's supposed to be 6mbps and 384 kbps.

    My last test results were 947 kbps and 116 kbps. My xbox live has been suffering bad too. My router is the d-link dgl 4300 which is supposed to be top of the line. I set up the xbox live rules on the router with a static ip on the xbox and i've tried it without the static address. When i played it a few days ago with just the modem it was running fine. i've downloaded cablenut and used the settings in for cable xp. I rebooted and nothing really improved. any ideas would be appreciated.
