i normally use spyguard, zone alarm, and avg anti virus. i sometimes have spydoctor on as well. zone alarm and spydoctor were off for these tests, and i have tried the tests with spyguard and avg off with no difference. i am connected through dsl, and ethernet port, and there is no advertised speed with my telephone company that i can find (either through speaking with them, my bill or their web site). i use windows xp, have no spyware or viruses, 2000mhz, 40 g drive pentium 4 with all updates sp2, etc. just think it should download faster. i appreciate the help.

i am on DSL, and I do not know my advertised speed. I was told it was on my bill, but i dont have a copy.
-
The cable tv box is right behind my house, so i think the internet comes from there. The dsl comes from miles away. My internet seems fast, but when i see other posters numbers here, it makes me think i could get it faster! :haha:
-
Which will give me a faster internet speed. DSL through my phone company, or through my cable company?
-
Can you tell me how to increase my speed?
