  1. That is the ISP, and no its not burst speeds. Their cheapest package is 256x128, for $29/month, they then have 512x256, 1.5x387, 2x512, 3x512, 6x1.5, and 10x10(backhaul). (I actually had a list of their plans on my desk, lol). I am on 3x512, so getting 2.7, generally is pretty good. But, when other tests, and even downloads pull in 3.7-4.2, then its something wrong. On download files, i'll easily hit 450kB/s, and best was 570kB/s, but that only happened once. This is speeds throughout the whole download, not a burst. Also, the ISP frequently provides faster speeds than what you paid for. I know some people on their 512x256 package that pull 700-800kbps down. It's not a big deal, but still. Edit: i think it may be a routing issue. Tracing route to www.testmy.net [74.54.226.166] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 11 ms 7 ms 9 ms wrlrtr.ecsis.net [65.255.102.1] 2 11 ms 9 ms 9 ms ecs-wrl.ecsis.net [65.255.107.5] 3 16 ms 9 ms 12 ms mem-ecs.ecsis.net [65.255.107.14] 4 10 ms 14 ms 14 ms jax-edge-r3.aeneas.net [209.173.32.3] 5 18 ms 14 ms 14 ms 64.127.128.233 6 22 ms 22 ms 19 ms atl-ten3-2-nsh-ten4-1.bboi.net [64.127.130.57] 7 35 ms 42 ms 37 ms ash-ten6-3-atl-ten5-4.bboi.net [66.216.1.141] 8 98 ms 94 ms 97 ms eq-ashburn-10G.theplanet.com [206.223.115.248] 9 98 ms 101 ms 97 ms bd.fd.5746.static.theplanet.com [70.87.253.189] 10 96 ms 94 ms 97 ms te9-1.dsr01.dllstx3.theplanet.com [70.87.253.6] 11 103 ms 97 ms 97 ms te1-4.dsr01.dllstx2.theplanet.com [70.87.253.114 ] 12 115 ms 101 ms 98 ms te1-1.car06.dllstx6.theplanet.com [70.87.254.178 ] 13 97 ms 97 ms 97 ms a6.e2.364a.static.theplanet.com [74.54.226.166] Trace complete. 100ms for 450-500miles isn't very good. I normally hit dallas at 37ms. Im pretty sure they don't traffic shape, but I guess thats possible.

  4. A local ISP ECS Internet Services. I'm using a Motorola Canopy 2.4GHZ system, and the tower is about 1/4 mile and we have direct line of site. The installer said we had 100/100 signal.
