I bought a new wireless Linksys 54GS router and had a really hard time setting it up. Real bad cd software, not at all easy like the other one I had. I finally had to get customer support to figure it out. Their "quick start" guide is poor to say the least. I will say though after getting it finally set up and doing a couple things to my windows xp settings, it has gotten a lot better! Here's what my speed tested now: :::.. I do get a low and very weak link on my laptop. My router is about 7 to 8 years old but my card in the laptop is newer.(about a year old). I'm wondering if this is why my connection is not up to what it should be with using cable internet?? Maybe I need to get a newer router? Thanks to all who can help me.
