You could run traceroute program from the command prompt interface there so however try run traceroute "google.com" and give us what results you get?

your results of comcast internal networks looks like appears be fine, no issues from there in your post of your results.

When the traffic on the network is light I see superb speeds.  When everyone is online, say 5-9pm, its about half as fast.

Exactly, when everyday are gets online at between 17:00 and 21:00 so that cable internet gets slow down but not really issue much since I running my own DNS caching server and links several DNS provider sites in resolv.conf file under my Linux box.
