I had Hughes.net for three years. When Centurytel finally made it's way to my house with DSL I signed up the same night I recieved my email that it was available. I have never looked back. I love it and have not had any problems since with my speed. I can only get 1.5 down and 275 up but it beats the hell out of Hughes.net!!

Also download the latest firmware v7.50.5 it resolves an issue with Easy Connect. Worked for me!

Try pushing and holding the light button on the upper left on the front of the unit. It will turn white and start blinking and then turn to yellow when it is done doing what it is doing. It sets up security for the wireless connection.

Did you try Linksys Easy Connect? You can download it from Linksys. Another thing you might want to check is to make sure your router is set to broadcast both wireless B and wireless G. It is a set up in the router. I am using a WRT54GS and my laptop has wireless G and my desktop is wireless B

I dumped Hughes for DSL the best move I could have made!! I can only get a 1.5 download and 256 upload currently but it beats Hughes and I have no FAP to worry about

I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless B Broadband Router hooked to my DW6000 and it works great. I went to linksys website and used the online installer to configure it. Bought it at Walmart for less than $50.00. I have good wireless range and speed.

I had the same problem. If you go to Windows Up Date Help it will tell you what to put in your proxy exceptions box so it will work. I have had no problem with up date since I did that. If you look to the upper right hand corner of the screen it has a search box. Just copy and paste the error number in it and hit search. It will take you to all of the info you need. In your case the error number is 0x80244023.

Thanks for the advise on the tweaks. Here id the first test after I applied them. I just hope these speeds will remain into the week during peak times. Will have to wait and see.

Sent an email to Direcway Support regarding speeds. Got a nice email with several things to try and four sites to test download speeds. My speed has been great since the email. I did nothing to tweak system etc. Running a DW6000, Windows XP. I just hope it stays this way. I enjoy the posts and the site very much.
