mobbdeep1122 Posted January 27, 2006 CID Share Posted January 27, 2006 Hey guys, back again with another problem--hope you kind folks can help me again! During the day(9am-3pm) my ping times are great.... From 3pm-10pm they start to become very slow and inconsistent -- really starting to bug me because I need good ping times for my online gaming on Playstation 2. I am setup through a router(Linksys BEFSR81) and my Comcast modem model # is CXC250. Heres my latest tracert: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] © Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. I am considering switching modems -- I tried calling Comcast and they checked my line and said all was good. I'm really getting frustrated with this as the ping times are so inconsistent. Swimmer Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 Alright here is the deal.. PA is a hot spot right now.. comcast is aware of it.. Keep taking a look at the tracerts and if they get worse for more than 24-48 hours.. give them a call.. Now theplanet is currently doing some network maintainance.. So the high pings are not unusual.. I would not worry about that. But the keep an eye on the Comcast network portion.
