powerand4 Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 hello i do not know much about this stuff and i ll try to provide as much info as possible. if you need anything else i ll post it. I have comcast high speed internet and my speeds are much lower than advertised i din't even get half the bandwidth I'm supposed to. it is advertised that i will be getting (8mbps download and 768kbps upload). i was unable to run the speed test on this site maybe its because of a firewall I'm using or something else. however i tested on another website ( http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ ) and i get abut 2884kbps down and 428 kbps up. also tested on a bunch of other websites and got similar results. SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer TCP properties for IP = XX.XX.XXX.XX () Browser/OS = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1. Again i dont know what I'm doing and any help is greatly appreciated.
Swimmer Posted January 28, 2006 CID Share Posted January 28, 2006 It isnt your fault.. the lag is in the Comcast network in PA.. They are aware of the problem.. Just keep track to make sure that they eventually go down.. You might want to call and see if they can get you some free internet time.. I believe that the max ping on the network is 100ms.. so you might be in luck there..

Is that the same thing as in a game room PING?? because since i got into PC gaming i realized that my ping is really high. Also i downloaded this program: TuneUp Utilities 2006 5.0.2331 and it seemed to help a little http://www.download.com/TuneUp-Utilities-2006/3000-2086_4-10440422.html?tag=lst-0-1 Now i test at about 3265kbps down and 493 up. Also i just upgraded my comcast internet from 6mb to 8mb and and it didn't add anything speedwise.
