Swimmer Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 Yeah you can do that.. It is called ICS.. you need to have 2 pieces of ethernet cable. and the computer that has wireless you need to have a NIC. To do this.. connect the wireless computer to the router into port #1. NOT WAN! Connect computer #2 to port #2. Then go to network connection folder. right click the wireless card and choose properties. Then select advanced.. enable Internet Connectio Sharing. This will assign an ip address to computer #2 and share the internet with that computer. You are going to have to have the wireless computer on to have the internet on the other computer. You also have to make sure that the NIC on computer #2 is on obtain ip address automatically and not static assigned! Let me know if you need more help! brock01 Posted February 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 the computer that is wireless has nic built in, so you mean i have to have this computer connected to the router by ethernet? so it cant be wireless cause thats the only way i can get this computer connected. Swimmer Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 No you are going to be using both connections.. So the wireless is going to share its connection to the wireless over the ethernet from the wireless computer.

brock01 Posted February 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 alright, now this anyway to use my other router on the computer that is not connected to pick up my signal, so it would be wireless
Swimmer Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 depends on what type of router it is.. Linksys router can do this with a 3rd party firmware.. Otherwise.. not really.
