Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 226 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Upload Speed is: 28 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 4 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 36.57 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=U2DWFMU4P moved to cable from puerto rico telephone company dsl. those <language fit for a marine> decided that in the interest of security they would block /all/ ports, oh, they left 80, 23 etc open, nice of em, on their end. seeing as the connection is used as a home office, and the company wants to be able to admin the machine with pcanywhere, this is a /slight/ problem. their comment: well, give us the ip that the admin logs on from and we will set up a tunnel for you. <WTF?> well, got that done once, lasted a week. called adelphia, asked what their policy on port blocking is. they asked me if i was a prtc dsl customer. aha. nuff said. well, the connection costs 55.95 US, the company reimburses up to 50 for broadband, so it's 6 bucks net. sweet. and the ip is supposed to be dynamic, but i haven't seen it change in 2 months now... best thing was the digging up to the house, laying cable install etc came to 75 bucks. good deal.
