The man who paid many of the biggest bills for George Bush's political ascent, Enron founder Kenneth Lay, has been found guilty of conspiracy and fraud almost five years after his dirty dealings created the greatest corporate scandal in what will be remembered as an era of corporate crime.

Eh, I would not believe that Bush knew about the Enron deal. Donations like these from very rich people and corporations happen all of the time and are essential for the costly political campaigns of todya.

Some of the top executives of Enron (not those prosecuted) did not know about the scandal. The pity is not that money was given to Enron, as that's not all that unusual, but that there were corrupt people who would ruin the lives of others, including everyone in their company and their investors, for their own greed and gain.

That Bush was involved is a nice story for the increasing amount of Bush-haters out there.

if you see it that way then all candidates that receive donations for their campaign are guilty of the same corruption. (which is in fact true) but how does the enron scandal connect to bush? not at all.

anyhow, you should choose your sources a little more carefully. the article you cite is not a news story. it is an opinion piece. it does not reflect facts so much as the personal opinion of the author who in this case seems to be upset that his party lost.
