casharp Posted September 15, 2006 CID Share Posted September 15, 2006 I'm looking for opinions ans/or advice. Right now the office where I work has Wildblue satellite internet service (Pro pack) We switched to that from DirecWay because of the poor speeds and customer service. Wildblue was fine for the first couple of months, but has slowed down. We found out yesterday that ATT DSL is available. Here's the situation: we're about 8,900 feet from the demarc (?) How far is too far to get the speeds they are promising? (1.5 or 3 Meg down) To get the DSL we will have to switch our phone service from another provider and make a 1 yr committment. One person said there was a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, another one said once you've got it you're stuck for the whole year. Any advice?
