jamaicarocks Posted October 29, 2006 CID Share Posted October 29, 2006 Wuz up, I'm using ISA server at a location ,my company is growing so we need another ISA server with same settings at another location,....I exported the configurations to a file ......On the server that will be used at the location I tried to import the settings ,but I'm getting "Error, password mismatch" but the password is the same, does the hardware have to identical or is the error due to my trying to import the settings on my network where the original ISA server is? Thank you!
Swimmer Posted October 29, 2006 CID Share Posted October 29, 2006 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2004/plan/exportimportsettings.mspx read that.. you should set the backup password at the time the backup is created.. http://www.internetaccessmonitor.com/eng/support/docs/isaserver/CMT_H_ImportConfg.php read that for the import of the file. Swimmer Posted October 30, 2006 CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 and you are trying this on the box administrator account.. not a user account that you set up?
jamaicarocks Posted October 30, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 YAH.......I'm using the Admin A/C,.......thats why I was wondering if becuz I I dont have two 2nics in the new server or becuz I dont have the sp2 thats why it wont work......but then again it directly says "incorrect password"...so I'm not sure. Swimmer Posted October 30, 2006 CID Share Posted October 30, 2006 The configuration file for ISA should be all of the rule therefore I would think that it would be platform independent.. however, seen as you assign rules to NIC cards.. I am then not sure.. I havent worked with ISA at all.. I have used RAS on server 2003 to handle remote connections... Even at that it should allow you to atleast open the file.. Have you tried backing up the file on the administrator account or are you using a created user account? hmm.. odd.
