Hey guys..just found out about this site from my cox cable installer..

thats what i got...i installed my cox cable today

i got the 7mbps line and now im getting this much speed..

i dont know what to do...i think the apt line is bad..im thinking about switching to their 1.5 mpbs line..

then againg would i get the same speen on 1.5mbps line..

Welcome!!

I need some information about your modem levels.  You can either get these directly from the modem OR you can call their technical support and have them give the following to you.

Upstream

Downstream

SNR

Receive Power

Flaps/Insertions

Once I get that we can try a couple of things....

i have the linksys cable modem  modem

i dont know y it is that slow..

every time i chek it ends up aroun 1.7 Mbps downloading speed..

I will call my tech support once i get time..

also i want to know switching to 1.5 will give me the max speed

Okay...look at your provisioned rates....you are within specs with the provisioning you have given above.....

This must be some low end plan that Cox has because their upper tiers rock.  My suggestion is you call em back and see if they can let you try their normal speeds for a month to see which one you will stay with....they probably will.

BTW your signal levels are also good...no worries there.

Try testing on another server or site.

Ex. www.speedtest.net, www.speakeasy.net/speedtest

i hv the 7mbps line which should be good enough..

i talked to a person and he said they messed up my connection with some one..Im goin to wait tonight and see what happens...

the cox guy had different line . he mixed up two lines thats y i was getting low mbps although in the paper i had 7mbps line connection...
