da blazha Posted January 19, 2005 CID Share Posted January 19, 2005 I have been enjoying download speeds of 32KB/sec for my first month of broadband, but recently it has dropped to 15KB/sec, and i have no idea why. I have checked for viruses and any bandwidth hogging programs, but i have come up with nothing. I have a ADSL connection advertised at 256KB/128KB, with a DSL-302G Modem. I am running Window XP. I should mention i am from New Zealand.... :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 119 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Download Speed is:: 15 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 2 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 68.27 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=ESGZ8QX5H :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 117 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Upload Speed is:: 14 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 2 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 73.14 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=A2SEDUYKZ These were done with virus checks and firewalls turned off. Any tips/programs that might help would be greatly appricaited.
