clayjjojo Posted January 29, 2007 CID Share Posted January 29, 2007 Compatible cable equipment, including modem, is required to receive PowerBoost enhancement and other stated speeds. PowerBoost and all speed references are for downloads only. PowerBoost is only available with Comcast 6Mbps and 8Mbps speed service. Maximum upload speeds of 384Kbps/768Kbps for 6Mbps and 8Mbps respectively. PowerBoost works by temporarily providing brief bursts of download connection speed above the provisioned 6Mbps or 8Mbps download speed for the first 10MB (for 6Mbps service) and 20MB (for 8Mbps service) of a file download. It then reverts to your provisioned speed for the remainder of the download. Many factors affect speed, such as the condition of the wiring at your location, computer configuration, equipment, Internet and network congestion, and the speed of the Website servers you access, among other factors. Actual speeds will vary and are not guaranteed. Features and services subject to change. *Comparison chart reflects maximum download speeds for 768Kbps DSL, 1.5Mbps DSL and Comcast 6Mbps with PowerBoost. Comcast with PowerBoost speed comparisons to DSL based on widely available DSL services within Comcast serviceable areas.
