Daran Posted February 2, 2007 CID Share Posted February 2, 2007 Hey guys, I come here once and awhile just to check my speed but now I have a genuine problem. Ever since my family decided to get cable and hook up a home network, my internet connect has been painfully slow. We're using a Linksys WRT54GX2, which from what I've read, isn't the best choice for a home router, but my stepdad likes it because he can set up the home print server on it, so he won't get rid of it. We're supposed to be getting 6Mbps download and somewhere like 750kbps upload, but here's the reality.... :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 4 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Download Speed is:: 0 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 62 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Upload Speed is:: 8 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/02/02 - 7:20am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-5GWKXRQDF U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WV5RKJI62 User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 [!] gah... any suggestions? We've power cycled, he says he updated the firmware.. Is it just a problem with this garbage router? Thanks, I really don't know what to do, you guys know more than me.
