deanr60 Posted March 28, 2007 CID Share Posted March 28, 2007 I'm new to this forum so if i am in the wrong place let me know. I have just moved from California to Tennessee ( intentionally) . The only internet available is dial up, cingular edge, and Wildblue. Dial up is very slow, don't know anything about edge, and I can't find any comments about Wildblue that are positive, even though they have around 200,000 customers. Any suggestions? Thanks Dean
Siryak Posted March 28, 2007 CID Share Posted March 28, 2007 The reason there aren't any positive comments about Wildblue, is because there isn't really anything positive to say. Have you looked into "Sprint" EVDO? Have you checked for WISPs in your area? As it stands right now I would say Hughesnet is putting out the better product as far as satellite internet goes. Wildblue is still having major growing pains that Hughesnet has already been through and put behind them. I would not recommend EDGE. It is a horrible technology and your dial-up will literally outperform it. Here is the latency you can expect from Wildblue. It doesn't get any better than this either.
