cfatchma Posted May 28, 2007 CID Share Posted May 28, 2007 I have this Linksys WirelessG WRT54GS Ver.6 Firmware ver. 1.50.6 Released Feb 2006, and whenever I tried connecting to this router via wireless (Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN) or LAN, it somehow decreases my speed... In my disappointment unplugging and connecting my laptop directly to my CABLE MODEM ( Motorola Surfboard SB5101i) through Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC 100mbps, the speed may seems to be normally, getting as much as 100% more bandwidth. I have already read some of the articles from different forums using 3rd party application such as DD-WRT,HyperWRT +tofu, and the like. But it seems, "WRT54GS Ver.6" which uses a different OS that can't be FLASHED to linux since it would result to burnout except for Ver. 1-4 Iam not expert on this so, any genius IDEAS ? hehehe..
