berkland Posted May 29, 2007 CID Share Posted May 29, 2007 We live in Arlington, VA and have had FiOS for about nine months. Saturday after a violent thunderstorm, our power was out for just over six hours. After that the set top boxes (we have two DVRs) never got the guide and menu information back. I tried rebooting the router and the set top boxes themselves, but nothing worked. This morning I talked to tech support and they are sending out replacement boxes. I wonder if the lightening caused a power surge that did something to the boxes? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Both are on surge protectors. berkland Posted November 27, 2007 Author CID Share Posted November 27, 2007 Verizon actually had to send someone out to give us a new router. Once they did that all was well.
VZFiosTech Posted December 18, 2007 CID Share Posted December 18, 2007 The router was probably fried. The interactive programing guide and menus need the internet to operate.
