Sequoia Posted November 17, 2007 CID Share Posted November 17, 2007 jeffwalker9999 ;I don't have any specific settings for tos & Cox cable.I recomend disabling tos or at least trying that to see if it improves your speed. I think the first will disable TOS DisableUserTOSSetting 1 The second is just in case DefaultTOSValue 0 Try the TCP/IP Analyzer at Speedguide If disabled it should look like this IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)
Blunted 2 Posted November 18, 2007 CID Share Posted November 18, 2007 Those settings in the file attachment are horrible and way to big of a size for alot of settings. What are your advertised speeds ?

Sequoia Posted November 18, 2007 CID Share Posted November 18, 2007 Blunted 2 do you use TOS or have it disabled?
Blunted 2 Posted November 19, 2007 CID Share Posted November 19, 2007 I believe mine is being used I think DisableUserTOSSettings set to 0 means it is using TOS and setting it to 1 means its disabled. Here is a list of what the settings on cablenut do http://www.broadbandnuts.com/index.php?page=
Blunted 2 Posted November 19, 2007 CID Share Posted November 19, 2007 DisableUserTOSSetting set to
Sequoia Posted November 19, 2007 CID Share Posted November 19, 2007 Unfortunately Cablenut is useless for Vista. You are correct 1 is for enable or 0 for off. I think TOS slows you down unless you need it to route packets in your own network home or business. I wonder why speedguide gets the snip it used to be recommended.
