VanBuren Posted February 3, 2005 CID Share Posted February 3, 2005 anyone know why my downloads start at over 200kb's a sec and continually drop into the 40-70 kbs a sec range during a download? If you click on a link to download a file, the browser start downloading the file to a temporary directory during the time you browse where to save it, thats why you get a big boost when you finally click save. The speedmeter do not measure the time from where you clicked on the link, it only measure the time from where you clicked save, and the speedmeter calculate speed of the amount of data you have received and how long you been downloading. i made a screenshot of this a few months ago, speedmeter showed 8.5 MB/s = 69,5 Mbps even tho my cap is 10 Mbps and my network graph only showed 98% hehe VanBuren
