My info so far i'm runing a cable connection,i have a dell notebook pentuim M 1.5gb..512mg ram..with XP/SP2..wireless connection..netgeat wireless ruoter...i just update my spped connection from 300kv to 1.5mb in the UK using NTL service.. the problem. well i may say first that i never get to the 1.5mg..the faster spped that i get was 1.1mb..but just for a few minutes..i mean..i reset the modem i test the speed and shows 1.1mb,...but just few minutes after that the speed star to go down and down..i did few test and go from 1.1mb to 850kb...550kb and much lower...and averytime that i reset the modem i got 1.1mg again..but just for a few minutes... thanks a lot in advance for the help and for your time. voodoomate Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have try thoes step before puting my post..has you sugest..but nothing happeng.. Now..I'm runing 2 computer in one wireless modem/router...Now I have try to connect one laptop directly to the NTL modem using ethernet connection and holds the speed fine..i mean never get 1.5mb but a lest it hold it at 1.1mb..i should say that in the UK the brodband service its kind poor..i use to live in america and there's not compare point..but any way..it seems to my that the router could be the problem..meaby is not holding the speed when split the connection betwen 2 laptop's..?? you do thing that i may have to upgrade my router to a one with biger capacity..?? can you sugest some good device..?? thanks a lot in avdance for you time and help..and sorry for my english.... voodoomate Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

VanBuren Posted February 7, 2005 CID Share Posted February 7, 2005 make a tracert when your speed is fine, and also one tracert when speed are crap then we can compare them go to start-run type command and hit enter, type tracert testmy.net and hit enter, right click copy all and paste it in your post.
