*Edit*

I'm using XP

I use a router

My ISP is Cogeco cable

I've tried to plug it directly into the modem and my speeds are still bad.

I've checked out both these links

I want to try out Cablenut but don't want to mess up my computer or my internet connection. I guess I could really use some help with it.

One thing to note, I've had 4 tech appointments made (2 didn't show or call) and the 2 that showed up, one said they didn't know and would come back (and never did) and the last one said it was probably an issue because they were upgrading analog to digital in this area and it might be a year. I called tech support and he said it sounds like the tech fed me a bunch of crap.

My roomate also has a DSL connection in this apartment, I've tried to connect to that and I don't seem to get much better speeds.. I guess it could be a computer issue. :(
