ajb62787 Posted May 27, 2008 CID Share Posted May 27, 2008 Is there a way where I can OC mine for experimental purposes from the cheapest AMD Dual Core (3800+ I have) to an equalivant of a AMD 6000+ or 6400+ ? I have stock cooling and my video card is GeForce 8500GT 256MB DDR3. If so, what settings would I need to change for this experiment? Buntz Posted May 27, 2008 CID Share Posted May 27, 2008 We are going to need more information first. Did you built it or have someone custom built it for you. If it is a computer built by a manufacture odds are you will not be able to overclock it, because they lock you out of the BIOS setting that you need to overclock. Even if you can overclock it I do not think you will be able to get it up to 3.0 MHZ with stock cooling. My 4400+ [ socket 939 ] only got up to 2.7 MHz with a after market cooler on it. ajb62787 Posted May 27, 2008 Author CID Share Posted May 27, 2008 I have a custom built that I did myself. I'm using the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ AM2 @ 2009MHz. I have been able to get it up to 2.6GHz with a VCORE of +0.05 and multiplier of x4. I currently have it at the 2009MHz at a multiplier of x5. I'm using the BIOSTAR GeForce 6100 AM2 Motherboard and have 2 x 1GB of Corsair DDR2 800 Memory Temperature was at
