First test DSL

My first large file test here..Windows 7 - DSL Extreme

I'm signing on with Comcast next week, I hope I didn't make a mistake!  :cool:

Download Connection is:: 6122 Kbps about 6.1 Mbps (tested with 102391 kB)

Download Speed is:: 747 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main)

Test Time:: 2009/06/03 - 2:31pm

Bottom Line:: 107X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.37 sec

Tested from a 102391 kB file and took 137.018 seconds to complete

Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 94.84 % faster than the average for host (bellsouth.net)

I had DSL under Bellsouth while I lived in Nashville. I got 6.0mbps all the time, consistently.

I think I was paying $32.  Never had 1 issue with it. (Its 6 miles down the road here, but they wont

run it any further)

WHY are you wanting to switch to COMCAST???  I had issue after issue with them relating to

speed and billing...

Of course, I'm out in the boonies now and have HughesNet (1.5mbps) but anything's better than Dial-up.

I'm trying to save few bucks on my total monthly bill.

with comcast triple play (Internet - HD TV - phone service) it's about 145 a month, a savings of maybe??? 30 a month now...

Bellsouth (AT&T) dropped their newsgroups,  :angry:    so that was the deciding factor for them...

I use a dedicated news server now..I pay more, but I'm not feeding AT&T...
