OK I'm still trying to get this laptop going.....it was suggested that I download the bios drivers and reinstall them...OK I can do that.....NOT.. :haha:

I've been reading through the gateway site for over an hour now....think I found the file I need..(235KB)....however...how do I know if these are the latest ones....there's hundreds of them.  And some say that they must be run with PII, or PIII processors ....etc..Is there an easier way besides guessing??

yes.. there is.. depending on the laptop model.. however, Gateway enjoys hiding that stuff so that you get to call into them and talk.. (it make it look like they are still working)

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp

that should allow you to enter the serial number of the machine and pull up all of the related files..
