Hello im really new to the whole tweaking thing so please bare with me.

Ok I have a full dedicated T1 from covad.

Im running windows XP pro SP2

I have 2 computers running through the Seimens 5940 Buisness T1 router.

what would be the best settings for the cable nut program to get my full (or close) upload and download speeds.

Does any one have a file for cable nut that has settings optimized for a full (not shared) T1 connection.

My advertised speed is 1541 up and 1541 down minus a 20% loss through the router. when I run speed tests from various sites includeing this one, and multiple speakeasy test site I show 1.41 to 1.48 up and down but it seems that when I actually try to upload a file via FTP or MSN or something else I seem to be uploading at about 384 or abouts.

After useing the settings VB posted I seem to be uploading at an extremely steady 174 KB/PS

then you wont see a big diff in speed

you need to add TCP overhead of approx 10 %

so the real speed is 1480 x 1.1= 1628 Kbps

i would be happy with that

Does that sound about right for a full T1 not shared with anyone else?

Uploading through FTP to an OC12 server

that sounds fair

174 KB/s x 1.1 = 191,4 KB/s including 10% TCP overhead

191,4 x 8.192 = 1568 Kbps
