Mac OS X 10.3.9 has already been seeing a lot of trouble and Safari 1.3 that is bundled into the 10.3.9 update has been causing problems with specific sites.

You can either go back to the versions before the update, wait for them to release a patch for them (and while that you can use FIREFOX) for testing.
