ice Posted August 12, 2004 CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 Man, I woke up, heard they upgraded all of PA, took some tests and got the same speed. I got one test that was 5000kb/s, but I was let down. Then I actually downloaded some files, and now I'm happy as hell
RTB Posted August 12, 2004 CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 1 MB/s If I would be feeling evil today, I'd be asking about your upload again. But since I'm feeling nice today I won't.
ice Posted August 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 Actually, I have one, albeit a bad one still, but now I get about 11KB/s upload. I have no idea how, but I do. I seriously hope this doesn't change, because I shouldn't get this fast on either Oh, and here is another one.

How's the stability and ping in online games?
ice Posted August 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 Ping is still fine, and gaming is still fine. I can't get sued, they did it, not me

Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3316 Kbps about 3.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 405 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 59 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 2.53 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=KY6Y6I1IQ I'm going to ask other people who have RCN at the one message board to all take this test, and see if their routes to the site suck as well. exphleb Posted January 5, 2008 CID Share Posted January 5, 2008 Wow. I don't know where you got your info. But, RCn justupdated Bethlehem to fiber optic in 2006. I live in a small but developing township, and I was told by the VP of operations that they have no intention of running fiber optic for at least 5 years. We have a copper one way download and dialout connection. There are well over 5000 people who are waiting and waiting. I guess 5000 customers aren't enough. Yet, I know that a small community newar us, with about 200 residents, already have the fiber optic. The small community is further away from the head end than we are and no larger community around them has fiber optic. Our development wants to drop RCN and pick up Blue Ridge. It must be a complete vote and decision by everyone, though Man, I woke up, heard they upgraded all of PA, took some tests and got the same speed.
