Guest Kilroy44 Posted August 1, 2005 CID Share Posted August 1, 2005 Hi I had previously installed windows vista on my second hdd and decided to get rid of it, so I reformatted the hdd it was on which was my E: drive. But whenever i start up my computer i get the longhorn boot menu that asks me if i want to boot longhorn or xp pro. So i edited the boot.ini and deleted the line with windows vista and saved it (I also backed it up) But now instead of booting up normal and automatically going into xp i get a boot menu that asks if i want to boot into xp or default windows. Does anyone know how to get rid of this so I automatically boot into xp without reformatting and reinstalling everything on my c drive
missionsix Posted August 1, 2005 CID Share Posted August 1, 2005 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)WINDOWS="MS XP Professional SP2" /fastdetect Make sure the rdisk() numbers match and also the partition numbers only edit the default= part though.
