I have mediacom, and bought the 3000/256 Package. The results below come from a computer running Windows XP Home SP2 with the P2P patch, on a Wireless G network. I must also mention the cable guy said I had a fairly weak signal, and some noise in the lines out here where I am. I am using Mediacom. Before I discovered the tools to tweak connections, this was my speed:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 2595 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 317 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1)

Test Time:: Thu Aug 4 11:13:03 UTC-1200 2005

Bottom Line:: 46X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.23 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 79.31 % of your hosts average (mchsi.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-YFR1AT7VU

Then, I got CableNut, and followed VanBuren's tutorial. I came out with this:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 2654 Kbps about 2.7 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 324 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Thu Aug 4 12:06:08 UTC-1200 2005

Bottom Line:: 47X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.16 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 81.11 % of your hosts average (mchsi.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-B9QL4PTXO

Finally, I got TCP Optomizer. I played around, and used VanBuren's settings for all of my fields except for RWIN. I used TCP For the two RWIN values. I finally topped out at:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 2849 Kbps about 2.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 348 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Thu Aug 4 14:04:33 UTC-1200 2005

Bottom Line:: 51X faster than 56K 1MB download in 2.94 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 87.13 % of your hosts average (mchsi.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-L8Z0ANT7B

With an up speed of:

:::.. Upload Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 248 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Upload Speed is:: 30 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1)

Test Time:: Thu Aug 4 14:05:36 UTC-1200 2005

Bottom Line:: 4X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 34.13 sec

Diagnosis: Looks Great : 11.21 % faster than the average for host (mchsi.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-H9PXS7KJQ

I used TCP on the Win 98 machines on my network (I used XP on this one) and they went from 1.3 Megabits to 2.2-2.6 Megabits. Not bad there.
