VanBuren Posted August 12, 2005 CID Share Posted August 12, 2005 hey Sakura and welcome to the forum i think your maxed out, you need to add TCP overhead on that score and i know almost none DSL user go above cap. TCP overhaead is around 10% that makes your true speed 1295 x 1,1 = 1424,5 Kbps be happy thats 1424,5/1500 = 0,94966666666666666666666666666667 = 95% of your advertised speed hows the upload? that hop 5 probl block ICMP traffic VanBuren

VanBuren Posted August 12, 2005 CID Share Posted August 12, 2005 DHCP stands for "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol". your ping seems normal to me VanBuren
Sakura Posted August 12, 2005 Author CID Share Posted August 12, 2005 Here is the upload speed test: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 422 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Upload Speed is:: 51 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Aug 12 05:20:07 PDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 8X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 20.08 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 55.15 % faster than the average for host (dslextreme.com) And what is the difference between DHCP and PPPoE? Are there any way to make it faster connecting game server oversea:( change to cable internet or faster DSL plan would help?

But your DSL provider dosent use that, they using Fastpath, atleast thats what its look like. So there is nothing more to do VanBuren
