after getting my upgrade from bt i was told by bt to re-install xp and install new modem patches.

then i did my 1st test yesterday

Connection is:: 16688 Kbps about 16.7 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)

Download Speed is:: 2037 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Wed Dec 7 23:00:50 UTC 2005

Bottom Line:: 298X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.5 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 1000.07 % faster than the average for host (btcentralplus.com)

today checked my bt account online to find i have only been upgraded to 12 mb and that the 18mb i was going to be upgraded to aint availiable that means i am wayyyyyyyyyyy over cap and they have also removed my restriction to 40GB limit to unlimited yippe i am only paying

And before you say vanBuren this isn't cached as it was the first thing i did on the net after re-installing and doing patches.

you know i had the very same problem myself, getting cached results from main server. I had to uninstall norton internet security, didnt work with my router. Its looking good, since its not like 50 Mbps then you can suspect a cached score.

to make sure post some scores from flatfile test http://www.testmy.net/o-000

Edit: also test speed against some dslr servers, your speed would pawn compared to the rest http://www.dslreports.com/archive/btcentralplus.com

i suggest these eastcoast servers, should be best oversea

or the nac server, but then you need to register at dslreports and browse to http://www.dslreports.com/stest
