x_6985381 Posted December 17, 2005 CID Share Posted December 17, 2005 can i open ports to make my ping less.. i mean i run in the high 200's on most servers / steam games day of defeat // counter strike 1.6 // counter strike source. is there a way to open port on my router ::linksys 2.4 ghz wireless b::, this computers connected directly to it i dont see why im pingin so high i download at 7 mbp/s ... please help im newb on pings... resopalrabotnick Posted December 17, 2005 CID Share Posted December 17, 2005 the ping is the time it takes the comp you are pinging to send you a pong in reply. so in your case it takes 200ms round trip for the packets. be glad you aren't on dway or wb.
