  4. Don't sweat it guys! I'm ok! lol I am about to do a test with EVDO in Weston, MO where I work... I am curious how it looks compared to my home location. Thanks granpa for the personal note! I really appreciate it!! Steph
  5. Wow! I kind of feel like I shouldn't have ever posted here in the first place! lol This is the last time I'm going to defend my decision... I just posted because this forum was exactly what I was searching for when I decided to go the route I chose. I didn't want to cause any arguments! I am happy with what I have, and I don't mind paying for it(I realize that it is a lot of money, but only $50 more than I was paying for sat and t-mobile, and now my husband and I are BOTH mobile and happy). I go to grad school online, I do 3D art and sell through a few 3D stores online, I download programs that I buy online that are fairly HUGE, my husband games online, we won't get FAPd now... this is totally worth the extra $50 a month to us. If we didn't need to be mobile, we definitely would have tried the router, but I do wonder if the speeds would be lower with 3 computers hooked up to one card. We have 3 desktops in the house, but 2 are not hooked up to the internet right now... but the router may be an option in the future, just for the desktops. I will be keeping the laptops mobile. Why have a laptop that you can't take with you(and everything I do is on the internet). lol Anyway, thanks to those who gave me great information and advice, I really appreciate it! Steph
  6. Right, but you can't game on satellite...and I don't believe anyone said it was the same as DSL or Cable... I recall saying that IF I could get either one, I would have it... as far as mobile and hotspots, I don't want to have to go to a hotspot to get high speed... I want to get it at home and at work...
  7. $49.99 per card plus tax... a bit over $150 all together... bill will come later for service. Mail in rebates for $49.99 off of each card, so cards will be free

  9. Sure, I will humor you... sigh... how do I ping? Is that on a DW6000 or a DW7000... also there was NO WAY I am signing another contract with Hughes after my dissatisfaction...
  10. Wow! I NEVER got those kind of speeds with Hughes!! If I had, I would not have had a problem with it! lol
  11. I never said it would be an upgrade for ALL sat users... I said it was an upgrade in MY situation, where we have several users and me having high downloads and uploads because of the 3D art thing... I can't deal with FAP anymore... even if I had gone with a business plan, I still would not have been able to download a program I needed to be able to do what I am doing with my art... I would have been FAPd for sure. I am not trying to SELL anyone on Sprint, I was just giving MY opinions... of the situation *I* have been dealing with for 2 years! How do I do a ping test, I am curious... because my husband is on playing an online game without any lag problems... and I agree fully, if I could get DSL or cable, I would totally be there, but I don't see that happening out here for at least 10 years!!!
  12. LOL, yeah, let's not argue! Like I said, I am really (honestly, not being sarcastic) that satellite does work for some people, it just didn't for us... for the better part of 2 years!
  13. I think it is great that YOU get high speeds with hughes and that you are not having FAP problems, and that your satellite doesn't shut down every once in a while, etc. I would NEVER recommend Hughes to ANYONE!! lol And I think my computer settings may have something to do with not getting as high of speeds as I should be getting, but I am sure someone will help me out with some tweaks(hint hint) so that I can get up to 100%... I asked about this being unlimited and not having any restrictions, and I was told that yes, it is unlimited and no, there are no restrictions. I was told that I can download and upload as much as I want... About the equipment costs... um... we paid $500 for satellite... we paid $150 for the three cards for Sprint, and they each have a $50 mail in rebate on them... which means they will be free. Plus, we have 30 days to try everything out and if we don't like it, we can take it all back and get our money back...
  14. Seriously?? lol It is way more consistent than satellite every was... plus no FAP... and it is faster if you count the consistency, and not getting FAPd.... I am not going to get cut down to dialup speed just because I downloaded something I BOUGHT over the internet!!! Plus, my husband has been doing online gaming with no issues! Yes, we like it! lol
