I take it back...speak easy's server is actually out of washington.

Understandable that the distance does make a difference. I live in Az so the speak easy (in california) should definately be faster as I believe testmy.net is through tx. I don't get why most of the time testmy.net reports a faster download though. Being on Cox (a cable connection) I know that bandwith gets ate up and all that fun stuff and this is why I test at different times/days...I want to make sure that I'm getting what I paid for bottome line! Either way, I suppose that if it was a dedicated line I'd be able to isolate what I think is an issue.

Why is it that I can run several tests and they all differ with my speeds? My Router I believe is either 2201 or 2002 it's a Belkin 4 port cable/sl Gateway Router....I went to their website and got it flashed because it was a known issue to reduce the speeds...after the flash though there was no difference. I believe we need new routers! Mine's supposed to auto switch between the 10Mb and 100Mb...even at the 10Mb it should be good to go but its not.

My main concern is why would my router cause that much lag....and now I have to crawl under my desk if I want to connect my xbox

That's where I rcvd most of the ifo and even followed the link to the calculator. I even tried loading the values that were suggested but no go. I'm going to contact Cox. I really don't think that they have me set up right but are taking my money....especially when I see people that are on the regular plan and are blazing past me!

New to this whole post thing so please bear with me. I've followed this site for a good while now and have tried many suggested things.
