  1. I was at 4 Mbps before hand and had fine speeds (~90% hosts average) until the last few days when my speeds slowed down dramatically (~30% of hosts average). I called them (RCN) and they said it was my modem, so I purchased a new modem (Linksys, BFCMU10 Ethernet modem) and also upgraded to the 10Mbps which was free. So now I have a new modem and this new service, but I'm still seeing speeds of only 60%: :::.. We thought it was the modem but now even with the new modem and new service our speeds are really slow. Ive never really had this problem before. Ive tried directly hooking my computer up to the modem (My computer is only one of two connected through a router) but we still get the same speeds!! Edit: Ive also called RCN about 50 times and they all say they cant help me because there isnt any packet loss when they run ping tests. I dont think it's spyware either because the other computer experiences the exact same problem.
