  Can you tell us more about your setup, what EVDO modem, external antenna being used and are you using a router for networking. I have read that some are getting slighter higher downloads than 1.2mbit and some claim .35mbit uploads.

I was expecting to make the jump to Sprint about 4 weeks ago but a local store manager was making delivery a problem with the Linksys WRT54G3G-ST router. 

Now I'm again looking into it but will probably order from the 3G store. I have to admit though I didn't do this much research making the jump to the DW4000 from my PCI modem one-way when it came out. I thought about it for a couple of weeks and signed up. And I'm still using my dish labeled DirecPC.   

So I would like to know the Pro's    and Con's  if you have anything to tell.

Sprint is the best way to go.

Pros- NO FAP UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS

Good Speed Maybee A little less than what you get with your dw4000 but browsing speed is waaaaay better

Cons- there arent any really accept maybee that thr router if youll use one cost 200.00-249.99

Here are my speeds with Sprint and a signal of -83 to -86 altho i dont know if the upload one is correct because when i test my du meter shows upload of abot 40.0kB/sec and burst up to 63.0kB/sec

Surfing is way better,all day long. No storm problems like I used to have either.

But D/L at night ( dway was faster before during the night) is a bit slower. Otherwise all is cool.

Oh, no router either. Still not enough to share. Kids will have to wait. 

Forgot to ask do you use any tweaks if-so whats the best tweak ? since i upgraded to vista yesterday (late) it's been kinda slower (downloaded It taking atantage of "Unlimited" lol it was 2 Gigs

The tests here drive mine crazy. It goes past 10 megs. every time.

Yeah it is Sprint. A bit weird yet. Little slowdown uring busy time of day anymore. Can't wait till they release the Revision B, it is supposed to be up to 4.6. And  I could maybe use an antenna. If I ever find the time. It is supposed to help some with the speeds.

Sorry to hear that captfr. Kinda why I finally switched to EVDO. Much better all day. And storms are no bother anymore.  So you are up for the next 15 months then?

i just upgraded to i figured i would atleast give it a try do u have sprint these are my speeds just got this today no tweaks at all strait out of the box still on my old hughesnet settings...

It will suck at first, but like all internet they will get the bugs worked out. And if not at least they will cause enough price cutting as to get the others to be more competitive on their own pricing, and the areas they will cover. Like DSL stopped 2 blocks from my house out in the country.

Did you run the 2992kb test for download and the 579kb test for upload? It looks like you did. And I'm guessing your download results were only taken once, sometimes it takes two tests or more to get an accurate result. Anyway, it looks like your system is running good, congrats.

2992 Kb For both says at bottom of each test.

does any home owners in here have a pool in their back yard? in ground? me and my wife are thinking of buying a house with a pool and i was just wondering how high maintenance they were. we live in Texas so i know we would use it but is it worth the added cost i.e ele,water, and the chemicals and service?

i have a in-Ground pool in my back Yard maintenance isn't that bad (i have a auto Vacuum)     But chemicals cost a lot At-least $1000.00 A Year.....   But they are nice

But some times you do have problem like this year after opening the pool Up We cant seem to get the chlorine to the levels it needs to Be so its not as clear as it should be. -___ Still Swimable
