thanks! i just scanned using a bunch of different things, and now they all say im virus free!

i have many problems with my internet. so i will list them in hopes of someone helping me out. ok. problem one. in programs such as shareaza, it says that i am behind a firewall. but i turned off the microsoft firewall. btw, i have microsoft xp with service pack 2. i also have a Netgear FVS318 router. but i dont know what other firewall i could have. another problem is also with programs like shareaza. ares in particular. it just refuses to connect and download stuff. and my third problem is with online games. especially Final Fantasy XI. becasue with every online game, it will lose its connection after im on for a little while. so i will be playing for about 5 minutes, and it will tell me that i lost my connection. but also with FFXI, i just recently got it, so i have to update it. but while i am updating it, it will randomly lose its connection and the update will not finish. i dont know what to do about any of this. any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

hi. im new here, so I dont know much. i do know that spyware and viruses and the like can slow down your internet, though. and i know i have viruses, but i just cant get to them. i have avast, and it warns me of viruses, but when i scan, it doesn't pick them up. i know that there are some programs that can catch certain things, but not others, so is there any 2 or 3 or even more programs that i can scan with to maybe catch and delete every virus that i may have?
